Who approved of Adam Lambert as a replacement for Freddie Mercury?

As I’m sure you are aware, Adam Lambert did not “replace” Freddie. Freddie can’t be replaced. The shows are billed as Queen with Adam Lambert so Adam is not a member of Queen. Who approved Queen to perform with Lambert & still call themselves Queen is something we can only speculate about because I doubt anyone involved will reveal that.
As the members of Queen often said when Freddie was still here, Queen was run as a democracy basically with each member having an equal share. It appears (from the public documents), Queen is still owned by John Deacon, Brian May, Roger Taylor & the estate of Freddie Mercury with each having a 25% share.
So who knows what happened to allow Queen to go out on tour with Lambert? Obviously, Brian & Roger agreed. Did John agree with everyone else? Did Brian, Roger & Freddie’s executor (Jim Beach) agree & the majority ruled without John’s agreement? Was there some other agreement that Queen would tour with Adam as long he was not considered a member? Interesting questions but we will never know and the decisions are really up to the members.
