Do you know who this man is?

This man invented the power chord and influenced countless guitarists and rock stars…mainly with just one song.

The song came out in 1958. It was called Rumble. It was instrumental and was banned in several areas because it just sounded raw and nasty. The guitarist who recorded the song was Link Wray.

If you ever watch the documentary It Might Get Loud, with The Edge, Jack White, and Jimmy Page, Page talks about how Rumble influenced him. Jeff Beck and Pete Townshend have praised both Wray and the song.

If you’ve never heard Rumble, here it is. Keep in mind, it might sound tame now, but back then, it was downright subversive.
