Quincy Jones’ nearly seven-decade career is being saluted by Vinyl Me, Please (VMP). VMP Anthology: The Story of Quincy Jones celebrates the legendary music man’s multiple personas as a musician, artist, songwriter, composer, arranger, and producer, including his work in film and television.
The package is the 12th release in VMP’s anthology series (Vinyl Me, Please (VMP), which has also honored the Grateful Dead, the Women of Motown, Stax Records, Herbie Hancock, Metal Blade Records, and Philadelphia International Records, among others.
Limited to 1,000 pressings, VMP Anthology: The Story of Quincy Jones chronicles Jones’ multi-genre love affair with music, ranging from bebop and jazz to R&B/hip-hop and pop. It also encompasses collaborations with artists such as Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Michael Jackson. The package contains eight albums across 12 LPs, chosen by VMP and Jones.
