I guess it’s all about the bass, eh?
So, over the decades I’ve been listening, many a bass line has gotten me excited for this song or that. Sometimes not. It depends. Sometimes it’s just a snake weaving in and out of the tune, other times it dominates. But there are PLENTY of great bass lines in this mix. I’ve just chosen ten, some obvious, some not so much, but it was fun to compile, so, here they are! And, for the sake of the mix, just Rock tunes:
The Beatles: “Come Together” (from Abbey Road, 1969)
Led Zeppelin: “Dazed And Confused” (from Led Zeppelin, 1969)
The Doors: “Riders On The Storm” (from L.A. Woman, 1970)
Yes: “Roundabout” (from Fragile, 1972)
Pink Floyd: “Money” (from Dark Side Of the Moon, 1973)
The Clash: “London Calling” (from London Calling, 1979)
Rush: “YYZ” (from Moving Pictures, 1981)
Red Hot Chili Peppers: “Give It Away” (from Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic, 1991)
Muse: “Hysteria” (from Absolution, 2003)
Can you feel the bass?
